Have you ever wondered what animals might be saying to each other? It’s easy to imagine simple ideas, like “Danger!!” or “I’m hungry”, but what about a whole conversation? Check out this video of two chatty cats, Mossy and Stina, and imagine the possibilities:
Per their owner: “Stina (right) and Mossy (left) usually fight instead of talk, so this was an odd moment. They kept “talking” for about 1 hour, constantly…They are not related in any way, both are females, approximately 10 years of age when these pictures were taken. They are both still healthy and vigorous.”

Yes it’s true, Jan and I are the keepers of a lovebird named “Bird”. Jan’s friend Micah moved to NYC and needed a new owner for bird (at least that’s his story). In steps Jan — voila! When I arrived home, I thought we were temporarily pet-sitting. Surprise! 
So now the cat Romeo has a friend to stalk and harass, which he loves to do.
Bird is a cranky bird sometimes and likes to try to nip fingers. But she can be sweet too (well, sweet for her!) and did I mention loud? She likes to chirp, especially when she hears other birds. When the cat’s outside, I let her out of the cage and she usually flies over and sits on the top of my head, then hops on my keyboard and gives my fingers the evil eye for a little while. She loves to explore with her beak, which sometimes means bites and nips. We’re trying to re-train her but it’s very slooooow going.

Romeo had been buried and mourned for. Our beloved pet, Romey the cat, was discovered dead while I was in Dublin and Jan was in Florida. Turns out, while we were mourning and missing Romeo for 5-6 weeks, he’d been locked in a friend’s basement with no food and water! 
Apparently his caretaker Laurie had found a different dead cat that looked similar, so she buried him/her thinking it was Romey. When Jan returned from holidays a couple of weeks ago, she heard a cat meowing in the friend’s basement. 
It was a real shocker. He’d been locked in the basement for 5+ weeks with no food and water! Somehow he’d managed to survive — mice? a miracle?
